Ensemble Descriptions
HH4J “Heart & Hands for Jesus” is a creative movement group for girls grades 6-12. They perform during the morning worship service and perform on special occasions.
Orchestra Open for anyone 9th grade and up who plays a musical instrument. Whether it is brass, woodwinds, strings, percussion, guitar, or keyboard, all are welcome to come. They accompany the Sanctuary Choir on Sunday mornings as well as perform specials during the year.
Joyful Noise A choir for those who are young at heart. This senior adult choir is made up of people who love to sing from all over the community. They perform a regular concert schedule at the nursing and assisted living homes in Marion, Chilhowie, Abingdon, Wytheville, and Bristol as well as various special concerts in the community.
Sanctuary Choir The Sanctuary Choir is open for anyone 11th grade and older who is interested in singing. The Sanctuary Choir serves as the main worship leadership group during the morning service. They also perform pageants and special concerts throughout the year.
Children’s Choir Designed for 1st-6th grade, this choir instructs and teaches children the fundamentals of music and worship. This choir performs regularly during the morning worship hour, and prepares musicals and special programs throughout the year.
Preschool Choir For ages 4-Kindergarten, this choir is designed to help children gain an understanding of singing and music at their appropriate age level. The music they perform utilizes movement as well as musical instruments designed to enhance their understanding of music.
Handbell Choir This is an advanced Handbell ensemble that rings four octaves of bells and performs regularly during the spring and fall. They perform a variety of music from contemporary to classical. In addition, they also perform music with the orchestra and Sanctuary Choir, and when called upon help lead worship in the morning service. This group is open to new membership at the discretion of the Minister of Music.
wePraise wePraise is a contemporary praise and worship ensemble that leads music in the morning worship service. They are comprised of six singers and four instrumentalists. This group is open to new membership at the discretion of the Minister of Music.
